New and Interactive for Young Visitors

The media guide developed by NOUS for the Jewish Museum Berlin is one of the most successful museum apps in the German-speaking world, allowing visitors to experience the museum and its content in an innovative and inclusive way. The app is available both as an in-house guide and as a public app.

The redesigned UI/UX makes navigation more intuitive and user-friendly. Visitors can choose between different tours and explore current events or additional content. Of particular note is the newly developed 'Young Perspectives - Your Tour Through the Museum', designed for 13- to 16-year-olds. At ten stations, young visitors explore the permanent exhibition from a youthful perspective, encountering personal stories, music, art, and architecture, while choosing their own focus at each stop. The tour is available in German and English.

An onboarding process helps new users get started, while an optional wayfinding feature with short descriptions and photos supports orientation within the building.

The app also offers improved accessibility: users can adjust font size, contrast, and switch to a simplified view. In addition, 20 stations are available in German Sign Language and 50 in Easy-to-Read Language, making the exhibition accessible to a wider audience.

Overall, the features of the JMB app provide a more accessible, inclusive, and forward-looking museum experience.
