The NOUS Guide is not a device but an app for any hardware solution and for your own smartphone. It is the result of 15 years of experience in exhibition operation and has been continuously developed on the basis of feedback from hundreds of thousands of visitors.
Out of the box, the NOUS Guide offers features such as offline mode, remote content push, different navigation modes, multilingualism and much more in an individually designed interface; all in interaction with the NOUS Conductor - our CMS specially developed for cultural institutions.
Since the NOUS Guide is suitable for all types of devices, we select the appropriate hardware solution together with you and work together with international manufacturers. In addition to a proprietary device optimised for audio and video content, it can also be a commercially available smartphone or tablet that supports interactive games or augmented reality, or installations that synchronise AV stations, locate and navigate visitors thanks to iBeacons or ultra-wideband (UWB) and enable immersive audio walks - or a technical solution that offers everything at once. Hardware is never the problem!
Progressive Web Apps, or PWAs for short, have been the talk of the town for some time. They are a smart alternative to native apps and allow you to use your own smartphone. Unlike native apps, PWAs do not contain large amounts of data and do not have to be downloaded from the app stores. Instead, you simply scan a QR code and within a few seconds the PWA, i.e. your audio or multimedia tour, is available for offline use. We call our PWA NOUS Museums Web App because it is specially designed for museum requirements. It offers the choice of different languages, free and paid content, an audio and video player,
List menus, keyboard as well as the adaptation to your CI. Since all content is managed via our CMS, changes can go online within a very short time. And since the NOUS Museums Web App is hosted in the cloud, it is available from anywhere in the world in seconds. Of course, there are reasons that still speak in favour of native apps.
