The main focus of the permanent exhibition is on the European history of the 20th century and the history of European integration, viewed from a broad historical perspective and bringing together contrasting experiences of Europeans in history. Historians and museum experts from all over Europe are working to show the plurality of historical interpretations and to foreground the diversity of experiences and perspectives. A new collection was founded especially for the museum to impart history in combination with multimedia and interactive elements. The exhibition concept makes a range of interesting demands of the NOUS Guide, new paths in media interactivity and visitor triggering were broken. Media-stations are controlled via a mobile tablet and act as a key to the content that is available in the 24 languages of the European Union. The planning and subsequent implementation of media stations such as the 'Maastricht Treaty', the 'Reasons for the outbreak of World War I', 'Europe and you' or 'competing European political models' was carried out by NOUS. Furthermore, we planned and implemented a time-sync and language synchronization between the mobile visitor solution and the 31 stationary media-stations and planned and implemented the entire exhibition WIFI for the media-stations and media-guides including the IT-security standards and monitoring units required for all EU institutions. The museum offers an extraordinary multimedia experience which does not impose itself on its visitors. The mobile-tablet-guide also acts as an information tool and helps users to navigate via 3D maps through the museum. A sophisticated iBeacon solution to determine the position of the user in the museum, guides the visitors through the rooms and topics of the permanent exhibition.
