The ORF TVthek - the streaming portal of Austria's public broadcaster - has been presented to its users in a completely new look and feel since 19 March 2019. It is now available via mobile apps on Android and iOS smartphones and tablets as well as on the web. Numerous services were optimised in the course of the relaunch and new additional features were integrated into the offer. The ORF TVthek now offers the entire range of ORF services and all TV genres from information and sports to culture and entertainment in an even more attractive form for users and with optimised usability.

The video content is presented within individual sections and lanes in a much clearer and more convenient way and the favourites function is offered more prominently in the navigation. This allows users to select their favourite programmes even faster and more conveniently than before. With the optimised search, users can now find what they are looking for even faster by using targeted search suggestions. The programmes of the ORF regional studios are now presented even more prominently in the new "Austria Stage". A "live lane" with teaser images on the start page also provides up-to-date information at any time about the current or next live streams of the four ORF TV stations. Furthermore, the uncommented "live specials" can now be integrated by the editorial team both as a top highlight on the start page and on the live overview page, thus enabling an improved and quicker view of this offer as well. The frontend programming of the ORF TVthek is oriented towards the WCAG 2.0 guidelines - by means of direct links to more than 50% of all programmes of the ORF TVthek, subtitles, Austrian sign language, audio description or transcription are available. The rollout for other platforms, such as the smart TV app, apps for cable networks as well as Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV and for the ORF TVthek app in the ÖBB WLAN portal, followed in the second and third quarters of 2019.
