LinkIn close collaboration with MuseumsQuartier Wien – one of the largest cultural districts in the world – we conceived, designed, and implemented the central website. MuseumsQuartier brings together numerous museums, institutions, restaurants, and cultural offerings and attracts around 4.5 million visitors each year.
The website serves as an overarching platform that provides a concise overview of the entire area, bringing together the diverse offerings of the resident institutions. Visitors gain curated insights into exhibitions, events, and programs, and can seamlessly navigate to the respective institutions for more detailed information if needed.
One of the key challenges was to structure and make accessible the wide range of cultural offerings – from major exhibitions to smaller formats. The clean design builds on MQ’s visual identity, remains deliberately understated, and creates a clear stage for the institutions’ content.
The technical implementation includes a multi-tenant CMS that enables both MQ and the institutions to manage content independently. A tenant-based structure ensures clearly defined editorial permissions for pages, sub-sections, and the event calendar, while a flexible framework allows for the easy integration of new content and features at any time.
A strong focus was placed on a simple and intuitive user journey: visitors can access relevant events and information in just a few clicks. The mobile-first approach ensures an optimal experience across all devices.
