Danish Castle Centre

100 Castles - Discovering Castles Digitally

Developed together with the Danish Castle Centre in Vordingborg, 100 Castles transformed the exploration of Denmark’s medieval castles into an immersive digital experience. The app invited visitors to discover castle ruins across the country through stories, images, audio narratives, and location-based content.

Combining storytelling, GPS-triggered experiences, interactive maps, and augmented reality elements, the project brought medieval history, kings, and power structures back to life directly on site. Visitors could explore historical locations in an intuitive and engaging way while moving through the landscape itself.

As part of the Danish Castle Centre’s wider digital mediation strategy, NOUS developed mobile guides, audio experiences, and robust outdoor solutions that connected cultural heritage with contemporary digital technologies.
