From September 5, 2026, to February 7, 2027, DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam presents ANNEMIRL BAUER. Bruch ist in der Welt. The retrospective brings together around 150 paintings, drawings, collages, and objects spanning more than three decades of artistic practice, bringing a critical and independent voice from East Germany into focus.
Annemirl Bauer (1939–1989) engaged both with the people in her immediate surroundings and with the social and political issues of her time. Freedom, equality, the role of women, identity, the environment, and resistance are among the central themes of her work. The personal and the political repeatedly intersect.
Alongside the main exhibition, DAS MINSK presents the small complementary exhibition Die Keramikwerkstatt von Wilfriede Maaß in the Cabinet.
Our approximately one-hour audio guide in German and English accompanies visitors through the exhibition. Numerous original audio contributions offer additional perspectives on Annemirl Bauer’s life and work, including a welcome message from her daughter and estate manager, Amrei Bauer.
