For the new exhibition “Unfolding Color - Simon Hantaï”, on view at the Museum Frieder Burda in Baden-Baden from 15 August 2026 to 10 January 2027, we produced the audio guide in three languages - German, English and French.
The exhibition presents around 40 key works spanning four decades and focuses in particular on Hantaï’s renowned pliage technique. The artist folded, crumpled or knotted his canvases, applied paint and then unfolded them again, creating distinctive compositions shaped by the interplay of colour, material, method and chance.
The audio guide accompanies visitors through Hantaï’s artistic development and major series, offering additional perspectives on his work and his highly individual approach to painting.
