Apocalyptic landscapes, androgynous-looking portraits, roaming dinosaurs: Nicolas Party has created a walk-in Gesamtkunstwerk of painting and architecture for the Museum Frieder Burda in Baden-Baden that can be experienced with all the senses. The large-format pictures painted with pastels on the walls of the museum are as ephemeral as all life on earth. They disappear again after the exhibition and turn to dust. Here, visitors encounter the major themes of the Anthropocene - the age in which mankind has finally taken over the helm, with numerous negative consequences: global warming and armed conflicts, including the irretrievable loss of habitats.
For the exhibition by artist Nicolas Party, born in Lausanne in 1980, NOUS designed a trilingual audio guide that accompanies visitors on their journey of discovery through the Swiss artist's colorful universe.
Original voices of the curator and the artist in the audio guide additionally emphasize the fundamental challenges facing humanity, but also leave room for a hopeful future, as suggested by the title of the exhibition: "When tomorrow comes".
